How to set default connection string

I’ve been trying to set the default connection string to udp://myserver:8080 but both support and remote access downloads offer http://myserver:80 in the client installations and it needs to be set manually. How can I change this, I’m assuming it’s somewhere in the server configuration? In the server administration I’ve changed the “publicly visible domain name” to myserver:8080 but it has no effect. I’m using Simplehelp 5.3.7.
