Is it possible to change an existing server’s private identity and keep existing clients?

There is an option to change the identity and disconnect it from the license but I’m assuming that doing so would cause all existing clients to no longer communicate with the server?

That would be a good question for support. I have never tried. I do know that once the private identity changes or is not restored from a backup, the clients don’t connect.
