Quick Question on sessions

Am looking to purchase SimpleHelp. Yet I am a one man show. However, sometimes when helping a user, I need to then remote to their server for whatever reason. Want to buy the business license, yet do not want to buy two license’s just to sometimes remote to two machines at the same time.
So I guess my question is: Is this a HARD limit? And has it caused a bunch of heartache for those that may be in the same boat as I am?

It’s a hard limit. I’m in the same boat as you and yes, it is a pain once in a while but I just disconnect/connect/disconnect/reconnect. It’s occasional enough and not enough of a pain for me to shell out for another license.

At one point I was going to make a feature request to them for some sort of temporary extra license - e.g. for X minutes or X times a year or something for cases like this but didn’t think they would have much incentive to create it.

I’ve been using SimpleHelp for more than 10 years (lost count) and don’t regret paying for the needed licenses. Any other solution will cost much more and with less features and support. I’ve never had an issue that would leave my business down. I’m in USA and next day always have a great reply to any question. Believe me when I say that I’ve compared with other solutions but even my workers prefer simplehelp. If you want a good solution you help them improve it and be available for support when needed. I strongly believe that anyone deserves to be rewarded for work, however I completely understand the “one-man-show” position. For that there are free solutions that would require for you to invest more time and resources to set it up. I hope your business grows to the point of not having to worry about it.

Great point and I too should say that I have used and loved SimpleHelp for 10+ years and can’t imagine things without it - it has literally changed my life professionally and personally. I’ve tried different solutions over the years and absolutely think SH is the best. I’m just saying that a 2nd license for me doesn’t make sense because it’s a rare edge case. I agree the support has been great too.

One man band here too. I managed on a single licence for a while, but then decided it would be much more useful to have another one. Do not regret it!

Can now easily work on someone’s PC at the same time as their laptop, work on 2 clients’ PCs at the same time. So much better than having to constantly disconnect and reconnect to switch between one and the other.

Also a 1-man show. Was originally a licensed AMMYY Admin user, then became too troublesome with anti-virus companies and switch to SH. I have all servers setup on both SH and AA, normally use SH, but on occasion will need to access both a server and a workstation for the same business so I break out AA. One thing I prefer about AA is automatic window sizing, otherwise SH is the better solution. Tempted to purchase a 2nd license, but not enough to actually do it for the cost.

I’ve always had a second license for scenarios such as:

  1. Pop on a second customer’s computer for quick fixes without disconnecting from current project.
  2. Can leave previous session running updates etc. and confirm it completed
  3. Working on client’s desktop and laptop at the same time (happens often).
  4. While working on client be able to connect to server.
