Is there a way to migrate the SimpleSetp software/management to another computer without setting it up again. The computer that’s hosting the software keeps crashing. The server is located at Digital Ocean. I searched but couldn’t find any information. I did open up a support ticket but haven’t heard anything back yet

Can’t they migrate your instance to a functional server and keep the IP, settings etc?

Migrating SimpleHelp is relatively simple ISTR. From memory, all you have to do is install SH and restore the configuration folder?

Actually I was referring to the SimpleSetup software provide by SimpleHelp…
Here’s the response from tech support:

There’re no additional steps:

  • Back up your server configuration

  • Set up SSH between the new machine and the server host

  • Install SimpleSetup on the new machine

  • Configure the SSH password etc

  • SimpleSetup will detect the existing server and not install over it

    • If there’s been a new release, it will let you update the server as normal

The server is working good and I didn’t want to overwrite it. I hope this helps someone on the forum,.
